I wouldn&#039;t call most of the filmmakers on this list &quot;amateurs&quot;, but still, they&#039;re making films on very low budgets and (unlike Jia Zhangke) they&#039;re not asking permission from the censors: Wang Bing, Huang Wenhai, Zhao Liang, Du Haibin, Li Yifan, Yan Yu, Ji Dan, Sha Qing, Li Ying, Xu Xin, Yu Guangyi and many, many others. It&#039;s all about DV these days. When it comes to mainland film, there&#039;s very little else worth watching.</description>
